Tribes of Asaph and Producer Aleksandra Neznaeva Changes Recorded Music Forever

Tribes of Asaph and music producer Aleksandra Neznaeva changes recorded music forever. On their latest record ‘From Above’, no autotune (the Cher effect) is used and quantization (the process of making beats feel rigid and robotic) is virtually thrown out the window giving every track a dynamic feeling. On some tracks like Sweet Poison, drums are intentionally mellowed out with the removal of high frequencies and the snare drum is replaced with ghost notes from the acoustic guitar. The team of Alexis U. Productions refuses to reveal how vocal layers are produced with a mellow but intense aural spectrum. They are infamous for sending doubtful clients to Abbey Road Studios if they prefer a more conventional production.

Tribes of Asaph Talks About From Above

Tribes of Asaph - From Above (Album Art)

Tribes of Asaph Talks About From Above

Bluegreenland Records:
Welcome, let’s keep the interview simple this time without too many metaphors so that everyone can understand. Also, tone down the sarcasm and try not to use any sentences that require critical thinking and any words that promote deeper thought.

Tribes of Asaph:
Okay.

Bluegreenland Records:
People who have heard the album find it hard to have any conversation while listening to it. Why is that?

Tribes of Asaph:
In simple language the songs are like a bullhorn with words and melody that gets your attention immediately, tuning out all mundane daily talk and amplifying whatever feelings the listener has. For example, if you listen to Salt and Ashes while having suicidal thoughts, refrain from standing next to a cliff edge. If you feel brave, you will feel even more fearless and paddle out into the raging ocean to ride giant waves.

Bluegreenland Records:
What is the ideal way to listen to the songs?

Tribes of Asaph:
Definitely with good earphones or speakers while sitting outside at night looking at the stars, perhaps with a can of cold light fermented wheat water filled with carbonation. Don’t ever play it through phone speakers.

Bluegreenland Records:
People love locations and numbers, give them some. Where was this album recorded?

Tribes of Asaph:
This album was recorded a 45 minute scooter ride away from the sea. It is material compiled from a decade of living in reality. It took a year to narrow down the song list from a hundred to ten so that the songs flow like an emotional roller coaster.

Bluegreenland Records:
Who produced this album and why does it have such a unique sound that do not fit in any indie folk playlist?

Tribes of Asaph:
The legendary producer Aleksandra Neznaeva of Alexis U. Productions and her team produced this album. We are not allowed to discuss the production secrets. However, a healthy breakfast every morning and a swimming pool to unwind after recording sessions definitely helped.

Bluegreenland Records:
Are there any famous people on any of the recordings?

Yes, the track Just Passing Through features the one and only Mermaid From The Stars.

Bluegreenland Records:
Why is the album called From Above and what does the track mean?

Tribes of Asaph:
From Above is a cry of mortals towards the unseen. An appeal to the universe for things to make sense and the answer that we are not alone, the encouraging voice of triumph of good over evil.

Bluegreenland Records:
Thank you for your time and keeping it simple this time.

Tribes of Asaph:
It was my pleasure.

A Short Deep Dive into The Universe of Tribes of Asaph

An Interview with Tribes of Asaph

Tribes of Asaph brings your mind and soul on an emotional voyage through acoustic guitar driven compositions. With songs about riding the tunnels in the world`s biggest city to catching waves out in the ocean to the pure feelings of happiness and joy.

Bluegreenland Records:
Welcome, here are some swim fins and goggles, feel free to share what needs to be shared. How did it all start?

Tribes of Asaph:
Tribes of Asaph was formed in a gigantic citadel near the land by the the invisible sea quite a while ago. A megalopolis unlike any the world has ever seen, it attracted all walks of life, sea creatures of every color and creed rode the gulf stream to the feeding frenzy of opportunity.

Bluegreenland Records:
Was it a conducive environment for creating music?

Tribes of Asaph:
The energy and movement fueled creativity. However, the lack of open space and nature started to spark frequent journeys to islands and mountains away from the concrete jungle. Immortalizing the energy of travel into songs helped to soothe the imbalance in the urban sprawl.

Bluegreenland Records:
How potent is the music of Tribes of Asaph?

Tribes of Asaph:
This is music written with real emotions and experiences made to uplift, heal, inspire and provoke thought. One can eat at a well known fast food restaurant or eat a home cooked meal made with love and care that is nourishing for the body and soul.

Bluegreenland Records:
Who are the Tribes of Asaph?

Tribes of Asaph:
The transient citadel created a unique rotating talent of musicians from all corners of the world that each contributed to phases of growth for the band. It is primarily driven by Asaph Lerburn’s vocals and guitar playing and songwriting.

Bluegreenland Records:
What are some of the principles that Tribes of Asaph stands for?

Tribes of Asaph:
There are many languages and only one human race. We are all on a pale blue dot and faith is important. The ideal where a person’s talent is used to contribute to humanity and to make a living is achievable for all. Every motive fueled by greed of power and money will eventually crumble.

Goodness shines at the end. Music is sacred and should be written and performed with honesty and realness. Ethanol should be consumed in moderation. News of the world should not be consumed at all. Instinct, critical thinking and your inner voice will keep you ahead to ride any wave that comes your way.

Bluegreenland Records:
What are some of the musical influences?

Tribes of Asaph:
Barry Manilow, Air Supply, Meat Loaf and Barbra Streisand.

Bluegreenland Records:
Thank you for your time.
